I know what you are thinking. Worksheets can be so boring for students. Especially when it comes to math facts. You can imagine one in your head right now. A bunch of addition or subtraction math facts 2nd grade students solve, usually while being timed. Students get so tired of those. And I have found that it doesn’t help my students actually memorize facts. So I created fun math fact worksheets 2nd grade students actually want to do!

Math Fact Worksheets for 2nd Grade

2nd grade students love learning about animals. They love learning about random facts. So I decided to incorporate this into a math fact worksheet my students do in our classroom.

In these worksheets, students solve the math fact equations. Then there is a key students use to solve the random fact. It’s like a riddle. They have to solve the math facts to solve the riddle.

On each page is a picture. The fact is about the picture. So students get really excited to learn a new fact about that animal or object!

I have these worksheets as centers in my classroom. Students always ask me if that can take them home to finish. They are so fun and engaging students want to do them at home! Find the Math Fact Riddle Worksheets my students use here.

The other math fact worksheets 2nd grade students use in my classroom are I Spy worksheets. These are so fun for students! Each page asks them to find certain facts. For example, facts that make 10. Then they search through all the clipart and highlight the equations that equal 10.

When I want students to do more, I copy the recording sheet on the back of the page. For every equation they find on the page, they write it on the back and write the sum. This way gets them even more practice!

Students love searching through the page and playing I Spy. They kind of forget they are even practicing math facts!

I have these I Spy Math Fact Worksheets for the whole year. Each month has a different clipart theme to always keep students on their toes! They never get sick of them this way because the clipart changes. Find the year long bundle here.

How You Can Use These Math Fact Worksheets for 2nd Grade in Your Classroom

I like to have a math fact fluency center in my classroom. I believe students need math fact practice daily for them to master the facts. So having a math fact center is a quick and easy way to do that.

Printing off a fun math fact worksheet is super easy as I am preparing centers for the week. I will incorporate different math fact games and math fact strategy activities. To learn more about math fact strategies read this blog post here. To learn more about math fact games that students love, read this blog post here. For other center ideas, read this blog post here.

Another way to incorporate these worksheets in your classroom is to have them as an early finisher activity. I set new ones out each week, so students know each week there are new math fact worksheets waiting for them. I like to give students incentives to complete these worksheets. So I add punching to their Punch Cards, that I also use as fast finishers for reading books. To learn more about those, read this blog post here.
